I got distracted looking at my YouTube stats today.
I haven’t posted a video for two years but people are STILL watching my stuff every single day.
It’s crazy how doing something once can still benefit you for years to come.
Even the videos with outdated material that I’ve been too lazy to update are still being watched.
Yes, I’ve been super lazy about this… there is a decent amount of traffic flowing in from these vids… I’m slowly tweaking stuff on the channel, though. Fixing dead links, deleting some old stuff, etc.
The reason I was in there to begin with is because I’ve got some videos I’ll be putting out real soon.
Got to take advantage of that traffic.
Let this be a lesson to you…
Don’t be lazy with YouTube.
Imagine if I had kept posting a video per week…
Even just one per month!
What would I have had to show for it?
Some of the most popular / most consistently viewed videos are just me sitting in my living room… telling stories and talking about stuff.
Being real.
I put more time into other types of videos and those have their place, for sure.
But there’s something to be said for simple, genuine advice and you being real.
So that’s what I’m going to be testing out soon.
Saying NO to that evil voice of perfectionism/fear and saying YES to being real and getting better at speedy publishing.
Let the chips fall where they may.
I admit, I spent WAY too long on this simple video I was about to post today.
Watched it over again – senselessly compared myself to a few other YouTubers putting out similar content for about 30 minutes – went and edited my video a bit and then finally uploaded it.
Waaaay too long for my speedy publishing goal… but you get better with repetition.
The point is…
There are tons and tons of people out there who are hungry for the stuff that you have to share.
You can help them.
Don’t deprive them of your knowledge and friendship and the chance to brighten their day.
AND… don’t deprive them the chance of purchasing whatever service/offer you have for them.
