A few extra bucks always helps, right?
Sometimes you need a bit more before payday (or for an unexpected expense)… Here’s a quick and dirty list I put together of ways to make some extra cash that pay out pretty quickly. These won’t get you rich but they DO add up!
You could probably even do them sitting on the couch with the game on.
1. PerkTV
If you have an old smartphone lying around, put it to work for you! I find I make about $5 per week per device (playing videos). Right now I’m running videos on two devices (one device runs almost all day long, the other for chunks of the day). Hey, it’s almost completely passive income – I’ll take it!

2. Mechanical Turk
Amazon mTurk is a site with tons of “micro-jobs” (or Hits) that you can do from your computer at pretty much any time of the day / night. Think data entry, surveys, transcription, etc. Some pay very little and sometimes you’ll find jobs that pay more. You may cash out as soon as you’ve reached $1. Pays to your bank account.
Tip: Once you sign up you have to wait 48 hours before you can get started. Then, you have to do Hits for ten days in a row before you can cash out.
For a more in depth look at mTurk, check out this post here.
This forum on Reddit is incredibly helpful as well.
This sub-Reddit will show you which Hits are “worth Turking for”.
3. Slice The Pie
Listen to a 90 second music clip, write a short review and make anywhere from 8 – 30 cents. The better your review is the more you’ll get. Flex your musical vocabulary a bit and you’ll probably stand out. You don’t have to be positive about every track either. If you really don’t like something, give some good constructive criticism and you’ll probably earn more. The artists will read it.
*I gave this a shot for a few tracks but got tired of it. My friend powered on this one day and earned ten bucks. He said he did it throughout the day in between other online things.
Payouts are made on Tuesdays and Fridays through PayPal
4. Fifty Bucks Fast
This one’s my favorite. It’s a strategy I found that actually pays out 50 bucks to your PayPal in 24 hours. Once you’ve done that, you get $2 just for telling others about it. All they have to do is put their email in the form and Cha-Ching!
I make about $30/month with this. The more people I tell, the more I make.
What is it???

***Bonus Money Makers***
These two aren’t necessarily the quickest but I thought I’d throw them in. Every little bit helps!
Bing Rewards
Bing wants you to use their search engine so much they’ll pay you for it. Get points for every 2-3 searches you do on Bing and cash out with gift cards. There are many other ways to get points (referring others, etc.). Bing makes that very clear once you sign up. If you really went to town on this, you could probably cash out faster than I do but… I just use it as my search (about half of the time) and let the points grow slowly.
Swagbucks
Swagbucks is similar to Bing rewards except there are even more ways to get points for gift cards. One of the best ways is to “watch” videos on SBTV by using the app on your phone or with the browser toolbar add-on. You also earn 10% of all the Swagbucks that your referrals earn. All is made clear once you join!
Paste this link in your browser to join: www.swagbucks.com/refer/gabeturner (I’m having trouble with a clickable link for this at the moment)

***Even More***

2. The “Beer Money” forum on Reddit is an endless source of info on this topic. You should never have an excuse not to make some extra cash as long as this is around.
3. Neville Medhora did a cool post on his blog that asked the question “How would you make 100 in a month?” The answers are a gold-mine of ideas.
So, there you have it! I’d love to hear about your experience with sites / strategies like these. There are so many more out there. I’ll probably expand this post as time goes by. Leave a comment and tell me how it goes for you!
